Governor Samuel Ortom has promised sustained quality service delivery to the people of the state while developing various sectors of the economy.
Governor Ortom made the promise today in an interview with correspondents shortly on his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from a two-week leave.
He said having reappraised his performance in the last two years during the leave, he was coming back with a renewed zeal to improve on the development strides being taken by his administration.
The Governor said even while away, he and the Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu were in touch to ensure that Eighty percent of the second tranche of the Paris and London club refund was dedicated to payment of salaries.
He explained that such commitment was in compliance with his administration’s earlier declaration of state of emergency on payment of workers’ salaries in the State.
While expressing appreciation to Benue people, for the cooperation his government had so far received, Governor Ortom appealed that they sustain such support in order to continue to achieve success.
Commenting on the possibility of President Muhammadu Buhari returning to the country soon, he said when the Governors’ delegation visited the President in London, President Buhari who had already recovered was awaiting medical advice from his doctors before taking such a decision.
The Governor maintained that enemies of the country who said President Buhari was confined to a wheelchair and was on life support had been put to shame with his recovery, thanking God for healing the President.
