The abductors of Mrs Elibeth Omotosho, mother of the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotosho, has demanded a ransom of N100 million for her release.
The 71-year-old was abducted by four gunmen on Sunday evening at her family house at No 23, Lobalade Street, Tanke, IIorin, Kwara state.
The kidnappers on Wednesday contacted the family member and demanded N100m ransom, PUNCH reports.
The State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr Akayi Okasanmi, however, said he was unaware of the N100m ransom.
He further said the police and other security agencies were on the trail of the abductors to ensure the victim’s safe release.
The state Acting Chairman , Alhaj Abdulkareem Onagun, pleaded with the abductors to release Elizabeth.
“We strongly appeal to the abductors to, in the name of Almighty Allah, kindly releas the old woman to join her family.
“Our national chairman has never been in government. He is somebody who has been assisting individuals and the less privileged. We believe that the Almighty God will shine his eyes on him.
“We are pleading with the abductors that the woman should be returned safely to her family without any ransom.
“They should consider Mike’s philanthropic gestures at state and even national levels.”
